9 Main Course Recipes Idea For Dinner

1 Sous Vide Duck

Prep Time: 2 hours; Cook Time: 38 minutes Recommended Serving Size: 1 breast; Serves: 2

Ingredients:

          1 tsp salt 

          2 tsp minced garlic

          1/3 tsp thyme 

          2 boneless duck breasts 

1 tbsp. vegetable oil

Directions:

Rub the spices into the duck breast. Place it in the refrigerator for two hours. 

Rinse the spices off of the duck. 

Place the duck into a Ziploc bag and remove as much air as possible. 

Put water in the instant pot up to the seven cup mark.

 Switch the pot to warm. Allow it to sit for 20 minutes. 

Place the bag in the water. Leave for 38 minutes. 

Remove the bag, and dry the breasts. 

Turn the pot to sauté. Add the oil to the pot. Once the oil is hot, sear the skin of the duck. Flip and cook about 20 seconds more. 

2 Leg of Lamb

Prep Time: 5 minutes; Cook Time: 10 hours Recommended Serving Size: 1 cup; Serves: 4

Ingredients:

           4 pounds leg of lamb, rolled

           2 cloves minced garlic

           1 packet onion soup mix

           ½ cup soy sauce 

           1 onion sliced 

Directions:

Place all of the ingredients in your instant pot. Stir to combine. 

Add enough water to cover the leg of lamb. 

Set to slow cook on low for 10 hours. 

Once done, use the quick release function to remove all of the pressure. 

Take the lamb out and allow it to rest before slicing. Enjoy. 

3 Chile Verde

Prep Time: 0 minutes; Cook Time: 25 minutes Recommended Serving Size: 1 cup; Serves: 6

Ingredients:

          2 cups green salsa 

2 pounds pork, cut into pieces

Directions:

Set the instant pot to sauté. Place the pork in even layer on the bottom and allow to brown. 

Add the salsa. Close and seal on the lid. 

Set the pot to meat/stew for 25 minutes. 

Once done, use the quick pressure release function to remove the pressure. 

Take out the pork, shred it, and mix it back in. 

Serve over rice. 

4 Beef Short Ribs

Prep Time: 30 minutes; Cook Time: 38 minutes Recommended Serving Size: 1 cup; Serves: 2 to 4

Ingredients:

          Dry rub 

          1 pound beef short ribs 

          1 cup water

          ½ cup barbecue sauce 

Directions:

Rub the ribs with the dry rub. Place them in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. 

Set the trivet insert into your instant pot. Add in one cup of water, and set the ribs in on the trivet 

Close the lid and seal. 

Set the pot to manual for 28 minutes. 

Once done, give the pot 15 minutes to release the pressure naturally. 

Open carefully and place the ribs on a baking sheet. 

Baste the ribs with the barbecue sauce. Broil them for three minutes. 

Serve and enjoy. 

5 Three Packet Roast

Prep Time: 15 minutes; Cook Time: 1 hour, 20 minutes Recommended Serving Size: 1 cup; Serves: 12

Ingredients:

          1 packet ranch dressing mix 

          2 cups water 

          1 packet Italian dressing mix 

          3-pound chuck roast 

          1 packet brown gravy mix 

Directions:

Trim the chuck roast of any excess fat. Place it in the bottom of the instant pot.

Mix all of the seasoning packets together in the water. Place this mixture over the roast. 

Close the lid and seal. 

Set to manual for one hour. 

It will take the pot about 15 minutes to reach full pressure, and then the roast will cook for one hour. 

When timer goes off, release the pressure naturally for about 20 minutes. Open pot carefully. 

Remove the lid and shred the meat. 

Serve any way you would like. 

6 Beef Barbecue

Prep Time: 15 minutes; Cook Time: 75 minutes Recommended Serving Size: 1/3 cup; Serves: 9

Ingredients:

           1 1/3 lb Angus roast, frozen 

           1 ½ cup favorite BBQ sauce 

           1 c water 

Directions:

Spray the instant pot with cooking spray.

Add the water and roast to the pot. 

Close the lid and seal. 

Set to meat for 70 minutes. 

Once done, use the quick release function to get rid of the pressure, and then turn the pot off 

Take the meat out. Trim off any skin or fat your see and, shred. Discard any other fat you come across. 

Empty water out of the instant pot. 

Place the beef back into the pot, and pour the barbecue sauce over the top. 

Set the pot to sauté. Stir everything together as it heats. 

Let the mixture cook for three minutes. 

Serve as you want. 

7 Orange Chicken

Prep Time: 5 minutes; Cook Time: 3 hours Recommended Serving Size: 1 chicken breast; Serves: 4

Ingredients:

          1/8 tsp red pepper flakes 

          2 cups orange sauce 

          4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Directions:

Spray the instant pot with cooking spray. 

Place all ingredients into the bottom of the instant pot.

 Close and seal lid. 

Set on slow cook and high for three hours. Once done, quick release pressure. 

Carefully remove chicken and shred with two forks.

Serve over rice and enjoy. 

8 French Onion Pork Chops

Prep Time: 5 minutes; Cook Time: 4 hours Recommended Serving Size: 1 pork chop; Serves: 4

Ingredients:

          ½ cup sour cream 

          1 can French onion soup

          1 can chicken broth 

          4 boneless pork chops 

Directions:

Pour chicken broth into the bottom of the instant pot. Add pork chops. 

Close and seal lid. 

Set on slow cook. 

Set on high and cook for three and a half hours. 

When finished, quick release the pressure. Drain the juices out of the instant pot.

Mix the sour cream and French onion soup together. Stir well to combine. 

Pour over the pork chops, turning to coat. 

Turn the pot to sauté. Simmer for about 30 minutes until warmed through. 

Serve with favorite side. 

9 Santé Fe Chicken

Prep Time: 5 minutes; Cook Time: 3 hours, 30 minutes Recommended Serving Size: 1 cup; Serves: 4

Ingredients:

          1 7 oz can diced green chilies 

          2 cans fiesta nacho soup 

          ½ sliced onion 

          4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 

Directions:

Place all the ingredients in the bottom of the instant pot.

Close and seal lid. 

Set to slow cook. 

Set on high and cook for three hours. 

When finished, quick release pressure. 

Carefully remove chicken and shred. Place chicken back into the instant pot.
